Charlie Thwaytes

FOUNDER

Charlie Thwaytes is one of the founding partners of Thwaytes Capital Group. With over 11 years experience in FX and International payments.

Charlie has worked with numerous FX companies and Banks to enable customers to send and receive International payments.

He specialises in cross-border M&A transactions, providing hedging solutions, competitive pricing, and precise management of large sums.

Has managed to achieve extensive banking lines for FX companies to enable their clients' favourable rates and payment services.

He has transacted over £4 billion worth of cross border transactions in his 12 years in the industry.

​He is a keen Runner, Cricketer and Rugby player. In his spare time he tends to be spotted behind the bowler's arm in the MCC pavilion at Lords.

John Paul Thwaytes

FOUNDER

John Paul Thwaytes began his career as chief Trader on the Derivatives Market of Liffe.

He went on to become Founder and Chairman of ODL Securities and grew the business to become the fourth largest FX Trading house in London, processing £250bn per month with global staff of 240.  

Continuing from this he established ODL Monaco, one of the first Brokers in the Principality and gaining approval from local regulatory bodies. He also acquired a Sole Traders license and JPT Monaco was founded.  

John Paul founded Plutus FX, now known as Cornerstone FS PLC which is currently listed on the Aim Stock Exchange.

He has recently held the position of Non-Executive Director of Valutrades advising the Board

John Paul is an angel investor in multiple innovative startups including Currency Cloud, Bloc Hotels, a disruptive Pensions business and degradable products. He has acted as chairman to oversee the Boards of financial businesses among many other achievements.

Rufus Thwaytes

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Rufus Thwaytes has been deeply engaged in the finance industry since 2017, specialising in raising capital from high-net-worth individuals and small institutions. Since 2023, he has honed his expertise in cross-border payments, foreign exchange risk management, and the voluntary carbon market, helping clients navigate complex financial landscapes with confidence.  

​Beyond finance, Rufus is a former international rugby player for Monaco and continues to compete in sevens tournaments from London Richmond to Dubai. When he's not on the pitch or in the boardroom, he's a passionate supporter of Fulham FC.
